Taking on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour for the first time in 2013, and aboard the Van Dyke Motorsports No. 5H for the first time, DJ Netto ran well at the Cocopah Speedway as he scored finishes on 12th and 10th place.

“I really can’t thank Harley Van Dyke enough for the chance to come out and race against the ASCS boys,’ Netto said. “We had a ton of speed on both nights, and it was really a lot of fun.”

Kicking his weekend off on Friday night, Netto lined Van Dyke’s Lucas Oil/K&N/JRI Shocks backed entry up on the front row of his heat race, and scored a second place finish behind Aaron Reutzel.

Holding his spot and not losing any potions, Netto was narrowly able to qualify for the feature event, as he sat 14th in points.

Lining up in the seventh row for the feature on Friday night, Netto did a nice job adapting to the extremely slick track as he battled with the likes of Logan Forler, Brad Loyet, and Travis Rilat much of the night.

Searching around the speedway to find the most grip, Netto was able to score a 12th place finish at the stripe.

Returning to action on Saturday night, Netto lined up sixth in his heat race, and made his presence known as he charged to a third place.

With the two night, ‘lock-in’ format in place, Netto missed out on the redraw, and found himself starting 10th in the feature event.

Getting off to a strong start, the Hanford, CA driver worked his way up to the sixth spot as he chased after Danny Lasoski for much of the race.

With just a few laps to go, Netto got passed by a charging Roger Crocket, and wound up settling for a seventh place finish.

“We were awesome on Saturday night, but towards the end we lost a little speed, and Crocket got past us,” Netto said. “Harley (Van Dyke), and Fez worked their tails off all weekend, and really made my job look easy.”

Sponsors on the 5H include, Lucas Oil, K&N Products, JRI Shocks, NAAKE Suspension, and Rodgers Racing Engines.
