Though at times he had terrible luck during the 2013 season, Matt Covington can look back at the big picture and smile, as the Glenpool, OK driver pocketed two back-to-back ASCS regional titles as he won his third consecutive ASCS Lone Star championship and second consecutive ASCS Sooner Region title.

“We really had some great partners support us all year long, and really made this possible,” Covington said. “We had some rotten luck on more than one occasion, but my team was there for me, and we really turned in a strong year.”

Though it wasn’t a booming season that boasted numerous wins, and made a ton of noise, it was a strong year that rewarded the Covington Motorsports team handsomely when it was all over.

Picking up three wins, Covington also tallied 18 top-10 finishes and 23 top five finishes in 46 starts, including some very strong runs with the ASCS National Series.

“We would have loved to pick up a few more wins, and were in position to a few nights, but things just didn’t go our way,” Covington said.

With 2013 complete, the next thing on the schedule will be a trip to the 2013 PRI Show in Indianapolis, IN, where Covington will meet with his current partners, and see about attracting a few more for the 2014 campaign.

“Our marketing partners really make our race team go, and again, on behalf of the entire team, I want thank each, and everyone of them, and hope many, if not all, are back on board with us again.”

Matt and his Covington Racing team would like to thank T&L Foundry, Triple X Chassis, Winters, Brodix, C.G. Martin Company, Factor 1 Racing, All-Star Performance, Outlaw Wings, Pro Shocks, DMI Components, Keizer Wheels, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, GME Steering, Wesmar Racing Engines, Bob Hurley RV, Eaton Industrial, Maxwell Industries, and Schoenfeld Headers for their support in 2013.
