14 Races on tap for the USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series

Lebanon, IN (January 16, 2014) — Officials of the United States Speed Association have announced that the 2014 Mel Kenyon Midget Series championship schedule consist of 14 races.  The series will kick-off the 2014 racing season at Anderson Speedway on Sunday April 27 as a part of the Glen Niebel Classic.  The “Niebel” will also feature the USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW.

 

Joining Anderson on the schedule are US 24 Speedway and Coles County Speedway. US 24 and Coles County make up the dirt racing portion of the Mel Kenyon Midget Series Championship.  The Mel Kenyon Midget Series is the only midget championship east of the Rocky Mountains that is contested on both dirt and pavement tracks.

 

The Mel Kenyon Midget Series will race at Anderson Speedway on April 27, Wednesday May 21, Saturday June 28, Saturday August 9 and Saturday October 4.

 

The series will head to US 24 Speedway in Logansport, IN on May 3, June 14, June 21, July 12, July 19, August 2 and September 9.  All the US 24 Speedway dates are scheduled on Saturday nights.

 

The Mel Kenyon Midget Series teams will travel to Mattoon, IL and Coles County Speedway on Saturday May 10 and Saturday August 16.
