Aptos, California – January 31, 2014…With one of the most anticipated Sprint Car seasons in recent memory on tap for Northern California, Prentice Motorsports Group is getting set for an action packed campaign that begins in March with the opening round of the Civil War Sprint Car Series presented by Flowmaster at Marysville Raceway Park.
In total there are 43 nights of racing scheduled between KWS, Civil War and the Taco Bravo Ocean Sprints in 2014. To keep everyone updated and on top of all the great events planned this season Prentice Motorsports Group is putting together a media team that PMG President John Prentice is very proud of.
“I’m really excited about the media team we’ve put together this year and I think you can even call it a media dream team,” Prentice said. “We’re going to have Gary Thomas on board as the announcer & publicist for the King of the West Sprints & Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo, while PJ Petersen is going to handle all of the public relations work & video for the Civil War Sprints presented by Flowmaster. Long time artist Brad Scadden is also going to be a part of the team with his great talents & we’ll also have veteran announcer Troy Hennig pop-in from time to time.”
Thomas has been doing PR for the Golden State/ King of the West Series since 2006, as well as the announcing since 2012 and also spent time as the Announcer/ PR Director with the Ocean Sprints in 2010. Petersen is the owner & operator of Petersen Media, which he started in 2012 and has been known for great driver PR and outstanding video compilations he puts together on a weekly basis.
Scadden is the owner of B Scadden Designs and has been around the sport for many years, designing a lot of the T-Shirts you see people wearing each week, including the Johnny Key Classic shirts at Ocean Speedway. Hennig has been the official voice & PR Director at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico since 1999 and has worked some of the biggest events throughout California as he enters his 15th year of announcing.
“We really should be proud of the media talents that we have out here in California,” Prentice commented. “The list goes on and on when it comes to Announcers, PR Specialists, Graphics Designers & Cameramen. It’s such a big part of our sport and I think with everyone we have in the Golden State I’d put it up against any other across the country. I’m definitely happy about the team we’ve put together at PMG for this year and I really believe the fans are going to benefit from it. The media exposure will be more than we’ve ever had between the three series and that’s a big plus for all involved.”
For the first time there will be no conflicts between the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series, the Civil War 360 Sprint Car Series presented by Flowmaster and the Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo. It should be a recipe for higher car counts and deeply stacked fields during the season like we haven’t seen in many years. If a driver can win all three championships they will take home a substantial bonus & be known as the “Triple Crown Champion.”
The King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series opens its 18-race campaign with the “Spring Thunder Nationals presented by KRC Safety” at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway on Saturday April 12. The Civil War 360 Sprint Car Series presented by Flowmaster kicks-off its 13-race season on Saturday March 15 at the Marysville Raceway Park and the Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo begins its 15-race slate of events on Friday April 18.
