In a major sponsorship announcement, Mach 1 Chassis from Mechanicsburg, Pa. has joined with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) for the third consecutive season. Mark Smith and Brian Scandle have been huge supporters of 360 racing in general and are welcome additions to the ESS sponsorship family.
Once again, the Hard Luck award will carry title sponsorship from Mach 1. The driver chosen to have the toughest luck in the 2014 season that has run 2/3rds of the tour will receive a complete Mach 1 frame.
Patrick Vigneault (2012) and Mike Stelter (2013) were the “winners” of the frame in return for seasons they would like to forget. Vigneault has grown a liking to the Mach 1’s and has purchased two more while Stelter will debut his new mount this year.
Mach 1 will also serve as title sponsor of ESS’ full point event on May 17th at the famed Selinsgrove Speedway. The 25 lap A-Main will see the winner get a whopping $3,000 and the event pays $300 to start with every position getting a pay increase from the normal ESS full point show payout.
The support doesn’t stop there, a program within ESS that will be announced shortly that has increased their involvement from years past.
The Mach 1 Sprint Fling will also kick off the 31st Anniversary tour at Selinsgrove on April 12th, The $3,000 to win event will see ESS’ best go up against the best that run the 1/2 mile weekly with other surprises mixed in. Last year many ESS teams trekked South to get a feel of the Snyder County Oval before coming back in May.
Successful Central Pa. sprint car driver Mark Smith builds the Mach 1 chassis custom to every customer’s needs. A certified welder and machinist, Smith knows every detail that goes into designing and building fast and safe race car chassis. He also knows that in order to be in a position to win races you need quality racing components—and everyone at Mach 1 strives to deliver only the best products every day.
