Breaking on to the USAC National Sprint Car Scene in 2013 with numerous wins, Kevin Thomas, Jr and his Michael Dutcher Motorsports team return to action in 2014 with one thing in mind, the 2014 USAC National Sprint Car Championship.

“I am really excited to get going, and build upon what we did as a team last year,” KT said. “We won some races last year, and were really strong, but I think as a driver I matured as the season went on and learned the hard way on how to be patient, so I am really excited for the season ahead.”

The 2013 season saw the Cullman, AL driver finish 5th in the USAC National Sprint Car Standings as he tallied seven feature event wins to along with 13-top five and 22 top-10’s. KT also timed in with quick time on three occasions, and led 191 laps to boot, but in 2014 he is looking for more consistency.

“Last year I got too greedy at times, and went for wins and ended up wrecking, or not finishing well, and I think I know better now that sometimes a top three, or a top five is okay, and I know I’m not going to win every night out,” he said. “My goal is to beef up the win total in 2014, but I also need to get more top-five and top-10 finishes to win a championship.”

Aside from just sprint car racing, Thomas will again be aboard the Gregg Steele and Larry Martz owned No. 2 Beast Midget in 2014. In 2013 KT and the team showed and raced all over, and in 2014, the team will do the same, but plan of running even more events through the year.

“I am thankful for the chance that I have to run the midget through the year,” Thomas said. “It looks like we will run some more races, which is always a good thing, and that included some of the bigger races on the schedule, so overall it should really be a fun year.”

KT would like to thank his sprint car sponsors-  Black Jack Oil Company, Michael Dutcher Motorsports, KT Construction Services, Bakken Concrete, Rotondo Weirich, ButlerBuilt, Hinchman, CSI Shocks, Weld Wheels, Maxim Chassis, Willwood Brakes, Indy Metal Finishing’s, Hoosier, and Brad Penn Oil, and would also like to thank his midget sponsors Duane and Sonya Alexander, CSI Shocks, Beast Racecars, ButlerBuilt, Hinchman, KT Construction Services and Esslinger for their support in the 2014 season.
