Van Dyke Motorsports Excited To Announce Chase Johnson and Justyn Cox Pilots of the No.5h In 2014

 Harley Van Dyke and the Van Dyke Motorsports team is excited to announce that both Chase Johnson, and Justyn Cox will pilot the potent No. 5h through out the 2014 season as Johnson will travel around hitting big shows with various sanctioning bodies, and Cox will go after the 2014 California Civil War Sprint Car Series Presented by Flowmaster Championship.

 

“We are excited to have two of the regions top young drivers competing with us,” Harley Van Dyke said. “Justyn Cox did a great job for us last year and we are excited to have him back, and we are excited to welcome and do some racing with Chase Johnson.”

 

As the season quickly approaches, the plan for Penngrove, CA driver, Chase Johnson, will be to travel the West Coast and hit premier events such as the Skagit Summer Nationals, the Trophy Cup, and take on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Series Presented by MavTV numerous times throughout the year.

 

Johnson and the Van Dyke team will also fill their schedule in with various ASCS Regional races, and over the Summer months, the team will head to the Northwest and compete in ASCS NW Speedweek.

 

“I am very thankful for the opportunity that Harley Van Dyke and his team have given me,” Johnson said. “I really feel that this is the next step in my racing career and I know it’s going to be tough at times, but I am ready to give this season 110% and turn some wins in for our team. I’m looking forward to seeing some new places, and stacking up against some other competition. It is also very cool that I will have a longtime friend, Justyn Cox, as a teammate. Overall it should be a very fun year, and I can’t thank everyone who is making this possible enough.”

 

After putting together a strong 2013 season with Van Dyke Motorsports, Justyn Cox will return to the team in 2014 as they will set their sights on going after the 2014 California Civil War Series Presented By Flowmaster championship.

 

Under the direction of the Prentice Motorsports Group, Cox and the Van Dyke Motorsports team are excited with the series’ 13-race schedule over eight of California’s tracks, and have elected to go after the title, marking Cox’s first attempt ever at the full series schedule.

 

“This whole deal kind of fell together once we saw the changes to the California racing scene, and Harley Van Dyke asked if I would be interested in running the full Civil War Series,” Cox said. “It was a no brainer with me wanting to stay close to home, so I’m extremely excited to be back with Harley and Fez. It is also very cool to have Chase Johnson as a teammate. Growing up racing with him, I know what he is capable of, and hopefully the two of us can give the Van Dyke team a great year.”

ON TAP: Chase Johnson will kick the season off aboard the Van Dyke Motorsports No. 5h March 7th and 8th  at the Silver Dollar Speedway for the Silver Cup, while Cox makes his 2014 debut a week later, March 15th, at the Marysville Raceway Park for the Civil War opener.
