TULSA, Okla. (March 7, 2014) – The Hose Advantage Store Southwest Region picks up competition at the Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz. on Saturday, March 15. Slated to be a National/Regional combination, the event was scaled back to a regional event.
Kicking off the region’s seventh season of competition with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real at the Cocopah Speedway, Logan Forler has taken the early points advantage going into the Saturday event.
Staying closer to home in 2014, Forler holds an advantage of 30 over Bob Ream, Jr.
Running a mixture of ASCS National and Regional events in 2014, New Mexico’s James Mosher holds third after the two nights of racing with Ryan Linder and defending champion Rick Ziehl completing the top five after an engine failure sidelined the Lucas Oil No. 20z in the region’s opening weekend.
The March 15 date marks the first of five visits to the Arizona oval. First appearing on the Southwest Regional lineup in 2012, the series has visited four times with three different winners. Rick Ziehl grabbed the region’s inaugural victory on September 29, 2012. Ziehl raced to his second win at the one-third mile oval in 2013 with Lorne Wofford and Logan Forler also grabbing wins.
March 15 will see events getting underway at 7:00 P.M. (MT) with Pure Stocks and Bombers completing the card. For more information on the Arizona Speedway log onto http://www.arizonaspeedway.net or call 480-926-6688.
