McKENZIE, TN – Derek Hagar made it two wins in two United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour Nation races in 2014. The reigning USCS champion drove his R.E. Enterprises backed No. 9jr Dynotech-powered J&J to victory in Saturday’s Tennessee 200 at Tennessee National Raceway.

Hagar started the feature event in fourth and spent the first half of the race chasing fellow J&J racer and USCS champion Terry Gray in his No. 10 J&J. Gray had trouble with lapped traffic and Hagar made a move for the lead on Dalton Davis on lap 24. He would hold the post position the rest of the way en route to his second victory in 2014 and his 22nd career USCS triumph.
“We had a good car all night,” said Hagar. “We won our heat race and started the main event fourth. We were running third most of the race. Terry was setting a really good pace and I don’t think anyone was catching him if he didn’t have the trouble with the lapped car. Bad luck was on his side, and I guess and we were able to take advantage of it.”
Gray rebounded to finish fourth ahead of his teammate Morgan Turpen (No. 10m J&J) to give J&J three of the top five finishers.
Other solid J&J finishes: Five-time World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz finished second Friday night at Thunderbowl Raceway driving the Tony Stewart Racing No. 15 STP/Armor All/Crimsafe J&J.
