– WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (April 15, 2014) – It was a long five months for Big Game Motorsports driver Craig Dollansky, who returned to a sprint car last weekend for the first time since the end of last season.

Dollansky won his heat race, the dash and placed third in the Midwest Open Wheel Association feature last Saturday at 34 Raceway.

“Given the fact it was our first night out in five months I was pretty encouraged with the way things went,” he said. “We made progress and were able to get a decent finish out of the night.”

The podium finish created momentum for the Big Game Treestands team heading into this Saturday’s season-opening event at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, where Dollansky will compete for the track championship in the 410 division.

“It was our first night to get things shaken down and sort some things out,” he said. “All in all, it was good to get that first night in and get the season started. We learned a few things there that we’ll work on in preparation for Knoxville.”

With MAVTV cameras taping the action at Knoxville Raceway this season and a hefty prize of $20,000 to the track champion, Dollansky is headed into the opener with high expectations for his Big Game Treestands team.

“The mindset is to win,” he said. “I would say it’s going to be the strongest, most competitive season Knoxville has had. Our team is prepared and will be ready. We have a great race team assembled.”

This marks the first season since 1995 that Dollansky will compete for the track title at the half-mile oval.

“At Knoxville if you’re looking at the points championship, they give points for qualifying, heats and the feature,” he said. “Every time you hit the race track it’s important.”
