– OSHKOSH, Wis. (May 6, 2014) – Big Game Motorsports driver Craig Dollansky is getting used to standing on the podium.

Despite recently putting together a new Big Game Treestands team, Dollansky has earned a pair of victories and four podiums in five races this season. That was highlighted last weekend when the team competed in a pair of races on back-to-back nights for the first time this season and the results were extremely successful.

“This team is still a work in progress,” Dollansky said. “We’re making gains each week.”

The Big Game Treestands team finished with a third-place finish on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, to climb to fifth in the championship standings before capitalizing on a late decision to head to Oshkosh Speed Zone Raceway for an IRA race on Sunday.

“It was kind of a last-minute decision to continue working with our program,” he said. “I’m glad we made the trip. In the end it worked out pretty good.”

After going out last to qualify on the dry track, Dollansky qualified 14th quickest. That started him on the outside of the front row of his heat race, which he won to advance to the main event. Dollansky made quick work of getting the lead after starting on the inside of the fifth row for the 25-lap feature.

“I think we got the lead by Lap 8,” he said. “They’ve got a good group over there. To come out of there with a win given where we started, it was a great accomplishment for our race team.”

Dollansky’s victory was his second of the season and it capped a busy weekend that started the night before at Knoxville Raceway, where the Big Game Treestands team put together one of its most efficient races of the season.

Dollansky qualified fourth quickest and then charged from sixth to second place in his heat race. The feature inversion started the Big Game Treestands car on the inside of the third row for the main event.

“It was a pretty good race in the main event,” Dollansky said. “We were right there with Brian Brown and Terry McCarl. Those guys have that place pretty wired at the moment. We came out of there with a podium finish and we’re really not where we want to be with our car.”

Dollansky ended with a third-place result.

After stepping up to do two races for the first time last weekend, the Big Game Treestands team is slated to tackle a tripleheader this weekend. The team will race with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series on Friday at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., before returning to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday. Dollansky will wrap up the weekend on Sunday for the season opener at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D.
