Macon, IL — (May 17, 2014) —  After periodic rains hit Macon Speedway for much of the week, saturated grounds forced a postponement of the DynaGraphics POWRi Doubleheader scheduled for Saturday at the historic track. While the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and the Outlaw Micros return to the high-banked fifth-mile oval on June 7 for IHOP Night during POWRi Illinois Midget Week, the POWRi double features will be rescheduled later this season.

“This is a big disappointment, because I know our fans were really excited about the POWRi midgets and micros running double features in one action-packed night,’’ track promoter Bob Sargent said. “The rain just kept hitting us Friday afternoon, and our grounds are too saturated to dry up even with this sunny weather on race day.’’

Looking ahead, Bob Brady Raminator Night is set for May 24. The Raminator monster truck will provide an exhibition at Macon Speedway after being on display at the Bob Brady Auto Mall at 4025 E. Boyd in Decatur earlier in the day. On May 26, the Sunoco American Late Model Series has a $2,000-to-win feature race as Macon Speedway continues a long tradition of racing on Memorial Day. Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will also race their UMP modifieds and hold an autograph session on NASCAR Night of Stars.

Casey’s General Stores will hold drawings for two free tickets from each participating store to Casey’s Night on May 31. There are also $2 off vouchers at Casey’s, and the convenience store chain will also be at the racetrack to hand out merchandise and gift certificates. And you might just win a prize by spinning the lucky wheel. If not, there’s also a chance to catch a T-shirt or other souvenirs. On May 7, the POWRi series returns on IHOP Night, when the Faster Pastor race is renamed as the BG Neavitt Memorial.
