Port Royal, PA — (May 24, 2014) — Miserable rains hit Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night right in the middle of the 25-lap Fallen Heroes Championship for 410 sprints, forcing postponement of the event and the balance of the features to be completed for super late models and 305 sprints.

As a result of the rains, an amazing, blockbuster Fan Appreciation Night has been announced for Saturday, June 14 at 7 pm featuring FREE GENERAL ADMISSION for a features only program of action.

Seven main events will now be completed on June 14 including the final 16 laps of the May 24 Fallen Heroes race for 410 sprints along with the entire slated May 24 super late model feature and the entire 305 sprint feature, both at a distance of 25 laps.

And another three features will be run in their entirety consisting of the rained out 410 sprint, super late model and 305 sprints mains held over from a rain postponement on May 3.  The May 3 make up mains will be 25 laps, 20 laps and 20 laps, respectively.

Plus, an xtreme stock feature will also be run as part of the big June 14 night at the races.

ALL GENERAL ADMISSION FOR THE JUNE 14, SEVEN-FEATURES PROGRAM IS FREE.

An announcement regarding the pit admission policy for June 14 will be released within the coming week.

Those who purchased a pit admission for the May 24 racing program should keep their raincheck wristband and await further instruction regarding its usage.

May 31 will now return to its originally slated format as Slivinski Law Offices Salute To The Military Night that is comprised of a regular program for 410 sprints, econo late models, xtreme stocks and all american outlaws.

Mike Erdley was leading the way in the May 24 Fallen Heroes Championship for the 410 sprints when a red flag unfurled with nine laps down for a vicious flip in the third turn by New York’s Justin Barger.  Dylan Cisney also piled into the wreckage.

Erdley was leading the sprint main over Rick Lafferty, Dave Ely, Lucas Wolfe and Blane Heimbach before the stoppage.

And then while under the red flag conditions the rain began falling, forcing postponement of the balance of the night’s action.
