Ohsweken, ON — (June 13, 2014) — 109 drivers signed in to race on Six Nations Bingo night at Ohsweken Speedway on Friday, June 13. Glenn Styres, Ryan Hunsinger, James Thompson, Alex Schuts, and Max Chechalk visited Mobil 1 Victory Lane during a fast-paced night of racing, which ended before 10:30pm.

CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING 360 SPRINT CARS
May 30 feature winner Chris Steele and opening night feature winner Glenn Styres started at the front of the 360 Sprint Car feature, and Styres used the high groove to take the early lead. Steele gave chase with Kyle Patrick and Brad Malloy close behind, but Styres had opened a healthy advantage by the time he approached traffic. Steele and Patrick both gained on the leader at times, but couldn’t get close enough to challenge.

Patrick finally got by Steele on lap 13, and began to cut into Styres’ lead again. Patrick was within striking distance when Justin Martin spun in front of him. Martin was able to keep going, but the disruption was enough for Styres to get away and win by 0.671 seconds over Patrick. Styres set a new track record for the 20 lap distance in his second win of the season, followed by Patrick, Steele, Jessica Zemken, and Mitch Brown.

Heat races for the 22 car field were claimed by Glenn Styres, Kyle Patrick, and Todd Hoddick, while Jamie Turner won the B-Main.

STRICKLAND’S GMC CRATE SPRINT CARS
Mark Czuba and Paul Lang started at the front of the Crate Sprint Car field for the 4th feature event in the new division’s history. Czuba led the first lap before Lang took over, while opening night winner Ryan Hunsinger moved from 11th to 6th by lap 3.

The race was red-flagged on lap 4 when Jake Brown made contact with Robbie General, and flipped in turn 2. The June 6 winner was uninjured, but the same could not be said for his car. Hunsinger quickly moved up to 2nd after the restart, but the race was slowed again when Kyle Durnin hit the frontstretch wall and broke his front axle on lap 7.

Hunsinger took over at the front shortly after the restart, and led the final 8 laps of the race to get his second win of the season. Tyler Hendricks was gaining quickly at the end of the race, but had to settle for the runner-up spot, followed by Lang, Aaron Turkey, and Brad Herron.

Heat races for the 11 car field were claimed by Aaron Turkey and Paul Lang.

AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS
Derek Liverance and Dave Bitner, Jr. were the front row starters in the Thunder Stock feature, and Bitner took the early lead. Dave Bailey moved from 10th to 3rd on the first lap, and up to 2nd on the next circuit, but row 9 starter Wyatt Van Wart got by Bailey 2 laps later.

Bitner’s lead lasted until lap 6, when Van Wart took over at the front. Bailey took over the second spot from Bitner on the next lap, and began to put pressure on Van Wart. Bitner and Lee Winger made contact on lap 9, resulting in a spin for Bitner. A small fire under his hood was quickly extinguished by the safety crew, but Bitner’s race was done. Track officials decided to send Winger to the rear of the field for the restart as a result of the incident, and he eventually recovered to finish 8th.

James Thompson and Billy Bleich, Jr. took advantage of the caution period, and marched through the field when the race restarted. Thompson moved up to 2nd at the halfway mark, with Bleich close behind. Thompson took the lead on lap 13 and went on to his 2nd win in the last 3 weeks. Van Wart settled for second, followed by Bleich, Bailey, and Bryce Richardson.

Heat races for the 35 car field were claimed by Dave Bitner, Jr., John Cote, Steve Hess, and Billy Bleich, Jr., while Ryan Dinning won the B-Main.

HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS
Kyle Nuell and Mike Giberson made up the front row for the Mini Stock feature, but Alex Schuts moved up quickly from his 12th starting spot to take the lead. Several drivers came from deep in the pack to race for top 5 starting spots, but Schuts was too far ahead for anyone to mount a challenge.

There were a few wild moments along the way, but the Mini Stock feature ran caution flag-free for the second week in a row. Schuts took his first win of the season, followed by Tyler Lafantaisie, Lucas Lubin, Jon Janssens, and rookie driver Chris Ryckman.

Heat races for the 29 car field were claimed by Chris Ryckman, Kathi Dickie, and Jon Janssens, while Matt Nuell won the B-Main.

GALE’S AUTO AFTERMARKET BOMBERS
Dakota Potts and Max Chechalk started the Bomber feature on the front row, and Chechalk took the early lead. Opening night winner Joe DeBoer quickly made his way to the second spot from row four, but Chechalk finally had some luck go his way, and got through traffic to take his first win of the season. DeBoer settled for the runner-up spot, followed by Gerald Burnham, Dusty DeBoer, and Ashton Reekie.

Heat races for the 12 car field were claimed by Max Chechalk and Joe DeBoer.
