“We had a little bit of luck in the feature event after a poor restart, but we also had a really good car,” Gravel said. “It was a long weekend with the delay at Williams Grove, but my guys worked so hard, and it’s great to end it with a win.”

Timing his Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle entry in fifth fastest, Gravel would go on to finish third in his heat race, safely putting him in the night’s dash.

A third place finish in the dash, put Gravel in the second row of the feature event aboard the 3H Cattle/Mobil1/FK Rod Ends No. 83 machine, and as the race went green, Gravel moved into the second spot, as he chased after Kerry Madsen.

On a lap five restart, Gravel was able to make a strong move on Madsen to take the lead, and he quickly began distancing himself from the field until the caution flew on the 13th lap.

The ensuing restart saw Gravel give up the lead and fall back to the third position, but the red flag waived as cars headed down the back stretch, negating the passes, and putting Gravel back in the lead, this time for a single file restart.

Gravel was strong on this restart, as he quickly jumped out to a sizeable lead when the green lights flashed.

Over the final 12 laps of the race, Gravel found himself in thick traffic, and though Madsen would close the gap on his lead, Gravel was able to pick up the very popular win.

“Madsen got us on that restart, and then the engine stumbled a bit and we fell to third, but thankfully we had luck on our side, and the red flew,” Gravel explained. “We had an awesome car and it’s great to win another Outlaw race.”

A very busy week started on Tuesday night at the Lernerville Speedway for the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup.

Timing in for twin feature night 13th fastest, before he went on to win his heat race, and earn a spot in the dash, to set the line up for the first feature.

By way of his eighth place finish in the dash, Gravel lined up in the fourth row for the first feature, and found himself in battles with Jason Sides and Lee Jacobs as he battled in side the top-10 during the opening feature.

When the checkered flag flew, Gravel crossed the stripe in the ninth spot, putting him in the ninth spot for the second feature.

Opting to use the second feature to try some things on their set up, Gravel and company didn’t quite have the results they were hoping for as he slipped back to a 16th place finish.

Thursday night saw the World of Outlaw series invade the Lincoln Speedway in Abbotstown, PA. Timing in sixth fastest, Gravel would transfer through his heat race, putting himself in the feature event, where he would eventually grid the field in the fifth row.

As the action picked up, Gravel jumped up into the eighth spot as he began chasing after Lucas Wolfe and Jim Segal, as the duo of PA regulars raced in front of him.

With the caution flying on the fifth lap,  Gravel eventually moved into the seventh spot as the second place running, JJ Grasso, encountered a flat left rear tire, and when the racing resumed, so did Gravel’s battle with Segal and Wolfe.

Following a caution on the eighth lap, Gravel took advantage of the restart to work up into the fifth spot as he now chased after Joey Saldana and Jim Segal, but now felt pressure from Brian Montieth.

With Montieth getting him on the 10th lap, Gravel slipped back to the sixth spot, where he would ultimately go on to finish.

Friday and Saturday brought on the Summer Nationals at the Williams Grove Speedway, and Friday night started out with Gravel timing in 32nd fastest.

Following a sixth place finish in his heat, Gravel would finish 13th in the B, and elect to take a provisional to get into the feature event.

Lining up 25th on the ½ mile speedway, Gravel would finish in the 23rd spot.

Saturday night saw the Watertown, CT driver start is night off on a much stronger note as he timed in 15th fastest.

A second place finish put him directly in the feature event, though he lined up in the eighth row.

After a rain storm came through and delayed the start of the feature event, the track became very narrow, and passing on this night was at a premium.

Gravel’s end result would be a 17th place finish.

“It was an up and down week, but it was really nice to get the win to close out week out,” he added. “We picked up a couple of Top-10’s at Lincoln and Lernerville, and then the Grove was tough on us, but we bounced back well, and will keep looking to improve.”
