ROCHESTER, NY, (July 28, 2014)- Ransomville Speedway, one of the cornerstone racetracks in Patriot Sprint Tour history is set to host another event this Friday.

For the first time since 2007, the Patriot Sprint Tour makes a second top at the Ransomville Speedway in a single season this Friday, in a special event presented by A-Verdi Storage Containers.  It is a highly-anticipated event by teams that ran well at the 4/10-mile oval back in June, as well as those that are hope for retribution.

Back in June, Jared Zimbardi held off the late-race charge from local favorite Stewart Friesen to claim his second career win at the “BIG R”.  It was Zimbardi’s second win of the year and since that time he scored three more victories, including a pair in PST Canada competition.  Zimbardi has developed a healthy point lead over Steve Collins, but Collins is hard on the charge after a runner-up performance on Saturday at Woodhull, his best career PST finish.

Chuck Hebing was the winner of the event at Woodhull on Saturday Night but was unable to attend the June Ransomville race.  Despite his absence, the “Cobra” has not lost a Patriot race at the “Big R” since 2007.

Brad Knab sits third in points and up until last Saturday had his last heat win occur at Ransomville.  It is the four drivers just behind him in the standings though that are attracting local interest though.  Ransomville’s Dave and Scott Just ran well in heat race action in June but had their special night ended in the first set of corners in a massive pile-up.  They are salivating at the thought of returning to their hometown racetrack this Friday.

Lewiston’s Derek Jonathan has not missed a Patriot race at Ransomville since his rookie season of 2006 and will undoubtedly attend, as will current rookie Dane Lorenc from Lancaster, NY. Alden’s Scott Kreutter suffered a motor issue in the June race but still hung on to finish in sixth, two spots ahead of Williamsville’s Don Adamczyk, who has circled the Ransomville races on his limited schedule.

Others that are looking forward to a return to the Niagara Frontier are four-time champion Bryan Howland, June runner-up Tommy Wickham, Tyler Graves, Paul Habeck and Jeremy Barnard.  Some teams that were unable to attend the June race are also expected to attend including Steven Hutchinson Jr., Mitch Brown and Todd Hoddick, just to name a few.
