Narine, AU — (November 22, 2014) — Sunline Speedway’s 2014/15 season commenced in impressive fashion on Saturday night with perfect weather conditions greeting a good sized crowd.

The 360 Sprintcars made a welcome return to the venue with Round 4 of the SA Transport Warehouse Solutions State Series as well as the Scotcher Race Fuels & Oils Gold Cup Stampede. After time trials, Sam Putland looked like the man to beat after posting an impressive time of 15.094, ahead of Dan Evans (15.179) and Jamie Hendry (15.301). Drivers contested 2 rounds of heats, with fastest drivers from the rear. Track conditions were challenging with track position being vital with passing options difficult. Brendan Quinn won his 2 heats whilst Nicole Hill and Brendon Guerin claimed a heat win each.

The top 6 point scorers then advanced to a 1 on 1, 2 lap pole shuffle to determine the starting order for the feature. Controversy ruled this when Guerin was deemed to have jumped the start against Hill, but this was only announced after the end of the 2 laps. This allowed Hill to stay on track and take on Putland. But Putland got on the power too early at their start and without receiving any warning, was sent infield. Hill survived a challenge from Jamie Hendry but was finally eliminated by Evans. The battle for pole position was between Evans and Quinn. Whilst Evans led early, Quinn found a way around to claim pole for the 25 lap feature.

From the green, Quinn pulled away and built a comfortable gap over Evans and Jamie Hendry. The main battle in the early laps was for fifth place with Daniel Pestka being challenged by Putland. This soon became a 3 way battle for fourth as the pair caught Hill around Lap 8. By Lap 11, Quinn had caught lapped traffic and began to work his way through without issue. 3 laps later Evans caught the same lapped traffic after managing to gap Jamie Hendry. Whilst Evans appeared to struggle to find a way through, Quinn kept his foot down and was able to win by almost half a lap. Evans hung on for second ahead of Jamie Hendry and Hill in fourth.
