Greenfield, IN — (May 29, 2015) — CJ Leary will be piloting the No. 5 Baldwin Brothers Racing, Fox Paving, DRC chassis, Claxton Engines USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car for the remainder of the 2015 racing season.
After many conversations between Leary and Kenny Baldwin, the deal became official last weekend at the Hoosier Hundred when Baldwin watched Leary qualify 5th and finish 12th. “Leary is known for standing on the gas,” said Baldwin, making him a clear choice for the No. 5 car.
Leary and team have only been with Baldwin Brothers Racing for a week now and he says the transition has been effortless. Derek Claxton and Baldwin have a very close relationship and Claxton will remain the chief mechanic for Leary.
Leary is on a hot streak with wins at Lawrenceburg Speedway and Kokomo Speedway and 10 top 5 finishes this season. He is confident he can get the No. 5 Baldwin Brothers Racing car back on top. Leary noted the success of the team in 2011, when Chris Windom was behind the wheel and hopes to have a similar season.
“I not only want to help myself by improving my resume with more wins, but it really is important for me to carry on the Baldwin Brothers Racing legacy”, states Leary. Leary has high expectations for himself and plans on driving the No. 5 harder than ever in order to accomplish the team’s goals.
Leary is itching to get his first USAC win of the 2015 season and believes this is what it is going to take to get it. The new Baldwin Brothers Racing team makes their debut at Plymouth Speedway Friday, May 29 before heading east for the “Eastern Storm” USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car tour.
The five-race series begins June 2 at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA and continues June 3 at Lincoln Speedway in New Oxford, Pa., June 4 at New Egypt Speedway, June 6 at Port Royal Speedway and June 7 at Susquehanna Speedway Park in Newberrytown, Pa.
