VanDam wins at Grays Habor

2014 Grays Harbor Raceway 360 Sprint Car Champion Evan Margeson of Tacoma led the field to the green flag for the 25 lap feature and took the early lead, Jason Reed of Elma spins in turn two, doing a complete 360, keeping the car going, and the race continued under green. Shelton’s Jay Cole ran in the second position, while the battle for fourth, and fifth would be exciting to watch between Everett driver Tyler Anderson and Devin Madonia of Granite Falls. It wouldn’t be long before Margeson had tough company from Enumclaw’s Henry Van Dam, as he was a man on a mission looking to track down Margeson for the lead. Van Dam would get by Cole for the second position, on lap 7 running the high side of the raceway.

Lap 23 saw a caution for Anderson slowing in turn four and pulling off the racetrack, setting up a restart. Margeson leading the field to the green flag, saw Van Dam pull a slide job in turn four taking the lead from Margeson. Van Dam would go on to win the feature, with Cole, Madonia, Margeson, and Mike Romig rounding out the top five. Heat race winners earlier in the evening were Cole and Margeson with Van Dam picking up fast time.
