Atlanta, GA – July 5, 2015 – The United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters set or tied some records during it’s three-race Independence Day 2015 weekend, Those records were not ones that should have anyone happy. First of all, the series tied the record for the most races cancelled due to rain in one weekend. The series experienced rained out events at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway on Thursday, July 2nd, Batesville Motor Speedway on Friday, July 3rd and at Riverside International Speedway on Saturday, July 4th.  This matched last season’s rain out record for the last three events of the series 2014 USCS Sprint Speedweek that were all rained out.

Secondly the USCS sprint car division’s total of ten rainouts in twenty-one attempts to have an event is the most ever weather cancelled events in one season for the series during its nineteen seasons of competition for winged sprint cars.

USCS series Founder and President, Pete Walton said” I cannot remember in our nineteen seasons of USCS competition, ever having a year effected by the weather like this one has been.  It has really been a challenge for our racing series and for our race teams. Fortunately we have been able to make up some of the events. We have two already re-scheduled from last weekend at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway this coming Thursday, July 9th  and Batesville Motor Speedway on Friday, July 10th as well.. We also hope to make up our Speedweek Finale at Riverside International Speedway. That event has been rained out twice now this season,”

“On a positive note I will have to say though, in most cases, our attendance at the USCS events we have been able to hold, has been up from the past few seasons” Walton concluded..

The United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters still has a full slate ahead with twenty-four nights of events still on the schedule and a possibility of several more dates being added.
