Alger, WA – The Rolling Thunder Big Rigs brought the thunder to Skagit Speedway on Saturday night along with a huge crowd. As the dust settled on the evening’s racing, Dustin Smith, Steve Parker and Freddie Vela stood triumphant in victory lane.

In the first main event of the evening, Steve Parker was absolutely dominant in the Sportsman Sprint division, taking the lead on lap two from Paul Burdick and racing away to a comfortable win. The win was his second of the season. Lance Sargent came forward to finish second and extended his point lead with Burdick taking third. Kevin Kirkpatrick set quick time. Joe Lyon, Sean Johnson and Kelsey Carpenter won the heats.

The Outlaw Tuner main event was second on the program, and Freddie Vela was dominant in the feature, turning the fastest tuner lap recorded at Skagit Speedway on his way to the win. On lap 10, Vela made a 17.596 second lap, the fastest on record in the 11 seasons of the division. Travis Meins was second and Matt Powers came from ninth to third. Vela and Howard Vos won the heats.

The Rolling Thunder Big Rigs ran last and thrilled the crowd with their close, side by side racing. Dustin Smith passed Leo Norris with two laps to go to win the 20 lap feature.
