After a strong showing at the Calistoga Speedway during the Louie Vermeil Classic, Ryan Bernal would score another win at the Silver Dollar Speedway as well as podiums at the Petaluma Speedway and the Keller Auto Speedway to claim the 2015 California Sprint Week Title.

“It was a great week of racing for this team, and I am honored earn Sprint Week Champion honors,’ Bernal said.

Tuesday night at the Petaluma Speedway, Bernal would overcome a near spin on the opening lap of the race to fight his way back forward to finish in the third spot on what was an extremely bizarre night of racing.

Heading to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Thursday night to take part in the Gold Cup Race of Champions, Bernal would time the Mike Phulps Motorsports No. 56 machine in seventh fastest before finishing fourth in his heat race.

Finding himself on the pole of the feature event, Bernal would be extremely tough on this night. Working the cushion to perfection, Bernal would hold off Andy Forsberg and Kevin Thomas, Jr to claim his second Sprint Week win of the week.

Traveling to the Keller Auto Speedway on Friday night, Bernal would time in sixth fastest and surge his way forward to grab a heat race win.

Jumping to the third spot as the race went green, Bernal would chase after Richard Vander Weerd and Damion Gardner as he worked around the 3/8 mile facility aboard his Keizer Wheels/DMI/S&S Automotive No. 56 machine.

With the leader having early issues, Bernal would move into the second spot, and pressure Gardner. Looking under Gardner a few times, Bernal would play it smart and settle for a second place finish at the line.

With the Sprint Week title essentially wrapped up after his showing at Hanford, Bernal would hop aboard the JFM entry in Santa Maria, CA and make it official.

“We have struggled with the 410ci stuff over the last few years, so to have the week we had is pretty special,” Bernal said. “My guys have worked hard all year on both the winged and non-winged stuff, so this is as much for them as it is me.”

Bernal and the Mike Phulps Motorsports team would like to thank Keizer Wheels, DMI, S&S Automotive, King Racing Products, Metal Works, Hoosier Racing Tires, Core Power, ART Chassis, Tri-L Mandarin Ranch, Tel-Tac, Willwood, Joe Hunt Magnetos, Permatex, Alan Kaiser Construction, Outlaw Graphics, BR Motorsports, FK Rod Ends, STIDA, Rockwell Security, ButlerBuilt, GoScope, 4 Alarm Promotions, and Dean Dealy Motorsports for their support during the 2014 season.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-43, Wins-10, Top 5’s-22, Top 10’s-27.

ON TAP: Bernal and his Mike Phulps team will be back in Hanford, CA this Friday and Saturday night.
