ASCS Red River Region set for sophomore year

Tulsa, OK — (December 11, 2015) — Gearing up for its second season, the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products has released its 2016 lineup. Along with the 20 plus race schedule, teams will see a revised payout that has the bottom end increased to $300 to start from $250, with each night of regional action still paying $2,000 to win.

Along with the boost in nightly payout, the 2016 season also comes with a new point fund that will see a minimum of $15,000 up for grabs. Eligible teams inside the top-ten in tour standings will also receive $100 per night tow money.

A quick look at the 2016 schedule for the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products finds 11 facilities on board with additional nights still in the works in North Texas, Oklahoma, and western Missouri.

The Devil’s Bowl Speedway and the Spring Nationals kicks off the 2016 season with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network co-sanctioning the March 18 and March 19 season opener.

The month of April tracks through four states with stops at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla. on Friday, April 8, Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas on Saturday, April 9, Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan. on Friday, April 22, and Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo. on Saturday, April 23

Teaming up with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. for the Impact Signs Open Wheel Showdown on Saturday, May 7, the Red River Region joins with the national arm of the American Sprint Car Series again at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14. Creek County Speedway and Lawton Speedway team up the following weekend with Creek on Friday, May 20 and Lawton on Saturday, May 21.

Route 66 Motor Speedway kicks off the ASCS Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek and is the only co-sanctioned race on the week on Saturday, June 11. Cutting through Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri, several local teams are still expected to chase the remaining five nights of racing starting at the Devil’s Bowl on Tuesday, June 14, then going to Lawton Speedway, Creek County Speedway, the Salina Speedway in Kansas, and finally the Lucas Oil Speedway.

The series will reconvene with another Creek/Lawton pairing on Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9. Outlaw Motor Speedway takes the series on Friday, July 22. The following night is still a TBA.

Superbowl Speedway on Saturday, August 27 is followed by the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on Saturday, September 10. Timberline Speedway on Saturday, October 8 if followed by the season finale at the Devil’s Bowl Winter Nationals on Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15.
