The blueprint for the 2016 AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car schedule has plans for a 24-race schedule that includes 20 races in the “Golden State” of California with events at eight different venues and two separate stops in the state of Arizona.
The season launches at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway on March 5 with the “Sokola Shootout” with the first of 12 USAC/CRA Series appearances at the southern California half-mile dirt oval throughout the season. Other dates at Perris include April 16, May 28, June 11, July 2, July 30, August 27, September 24, October 15, concluding with the prestigious 21st running of the “Oval Nationals” with the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars.
The series will make stops at Ventura Raceway on May 7 and Santa Maria Raceway on July 1. In September, the series hits the road for the “California Sprint Week” series that includes a rigorous schedule of six races in an eight-day span starting off with two nights at Calistoga Speedway on Sept. 3-4, before moving to Petaluma Speedway on Sept. 5. After a two-day break, the teams head to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico on Sept. 8, Ocean Speedway in Watsonville on Sept. 9 and conclude on Sept. 10 at Hanford’s Keller Auto Speedway at Kings Fairgrounds.
The USAC/CRA series makes two trips to the state of Arizona in 2016. First, the series travels to Canyon Speedway in Peoria for back-to-back nights of racing on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. The season’s penultimate events are the “Western World Championships” at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek for two events in consecutive nights with the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series.
