Indianapolis, IN — (June 28, 2016) — The USAC Indiana Midget Championship returns to Plymouth Speedway Wednesday night, June 29 for the first of three $2000-to-win “Hump Day Summer Series” races at the northern Indiana dirt oval.
The 5IVE-6IX, Inc. promoted event features the second race of the season for the Indiana-based, regional midget series. Noblesville, Indiana’s Bryan Clauson was victorious in the series’ initial race at Plymouth back in May.
By virtue of that win, Clauson leads the series standings by three points over Tanner Thorson heading into Wednesday’s event.
Meanwhile, Friday’s originally-scheduled regional midget program at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois has been cancelled.
In a statement released by track owners Kevin and Tammy Gundaker, they said, “In an effort to honor an agreement between local race tracks, and to avoid conflict with the “Summer Nationals,” Tri-City Speedway has cancelled racing for Friday night, July 1. We apologize for the last minute change to the schedule and hope everyone will enjoy the holiday weekend.”
