Brandon, SD — (July 9, 2016) — Heavy traffic played a major role in Mark Dobmeier’s second Dollar Loan Center 410 Outlaw Sprint Car win of the season at BMS. Justin Henderson led the first 19 laps from the pole. As Henderson and Dobmeier entered turn four with just six laps to go, Henderson got caught behind a slower car, allowing Dobmeier to clear him on the inside and to the win.

A couple of early cautions took out several cars. Austin McCarl scraped the outside wall on the front stretch hard enough to take him out. He was running second at the time. Moments later, Chuck McGillivray ended up on his side and was struck by Kevin Ingle in an incident that also included Tommy Barber and Jack Croaker.

One of the bigger stories of the night was Illinois driver Paul Nienhiser who was filling in for Matt Juhl. Nienhiser qualified first overall and was the only driver to break the 11-second mark. He then came from sixth to third in the feature, passing Tim Kaeding and Dylan Peterson to get there.

“We’ve had good speed all year long here,” Dobmeier said about being a little surprised his team hadn’t been to victory lane in between wins. Dobmeier started third in the A-Main, right behind Henderson.

amdahlElliot Amdahl led every lap of the Brandon Taco John’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature. He was able to outdistance Colin Smith over the final laps. Not even a late race caution for Jesse Lindberg (who was running second) could deter Amdahl from holding off Smith and Robby Wolfgang for his first win and second of his career at BMS. Amdahl’s other feature win came in the Micro Sprints.

“It feels good to move up into this class and still be competitive,” Amdahl said.
