has been on fire over the last two months, and that stayed trued to form over the last week as the Kingsburg, CA driver picked up three feature event wins including a weekend sweep with the King of the West Series.

“I don’t even know what to say,” Cory Eliason said. “I have some great people surrounding me and it makes it easier on me to just focus on driving.”

Resuming his Speedweek on Tuesday night in Lebanon, OR, Eliason would time the Van Dyke Motorsports No. 5h machine in sixth fastest in time trials before racing his way to a third place finish in heat race action.

Moving into the Dash, Eliason would finish in the second spot aboard his Lucas Oil/Hansen Machine/NAAKE Suspension backed No. 5h entry, placing him on the front row of the 30-lap feature event.

A picture perfect Willamette Speedway greeted drivers for the feature event, and Eliason quick took a liking to the high side of the speedway. Though in the second spot for much of the race, Eliason stayed committed to the cushion as he stalked Jason Solwold.

Gaining on Solwold in lapped traffic, Eliason would get to him on a few occasions, but would not be able to make the pass. With just two laps remaining in the feature event, Eliason would race by Solwold for the lead and would go on to take home the feature event win.

Moving to the Coos Bay Speedway in Coos Bay, OR on Wednesday night, Eliason would time in second fastest but would finish in the sixth spot in his heat race and not earn a berth into the dash.

Lining up in the sixth row of the feature event, Eliason would get moving forward on a track that was hooked up in the early portions of the feature event. Working his way through the field very patiently, Eliason would work up to finish in the sixth spot in what would be his final race in the Northwest for Speedweek, as he would head home with the point lead.

Meeting up with the King of the West Series for two events, Eliason would open things up on Saturday night by timing in second fastest at the Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA.

Finishing second in his heat race, Eliason would finish second in the Dash and find himself on the front row of the feature event. Battling with DJ Netto in the opening stages of the race, Eliason would finally get past his fellow competitor as he worked the cushion that built up around the speedway. Fending off the likes of Shane Golobic and Kyle Hirst in the closing stages of the race, Eliason would pick up his second career King of the West feature event win.

Making the decision to follow the series to the Stockton Dirt Track on Sunday night, Eliason would stay hot as he timed in fourth fastest during qualifying time trials.

Getting the win in his heat race, Eliason would finish in the fifth spot during the Dash, and grid the field from the third row of the 30-lap feature event.

When the green flag dropped on the feature event, Eliason would work his way in to the second spot by lap four as he chased after the early leader, Kyle Hirst. Again using the high side of the speedway, Eliason would close in on Hirst and take the lead on the sixth lap.

A restart on lap 10 would bunch the field back up, but Eliason would continue to lead the way until things got interesting with 10-to-go. Hirst now moved in on Eliason and the duo would spend the next four laps going back and forth, thrilling the crowd, until Eliason got the lead for good with five to go.

The last lap of the race would see Hirst make a run for the win, but Eliason would not be denied on this night, as he completed the weekend sweep and claimed the Tribute to Leroy Van Conett Feature Event.

The Van Dyke Motorsports team would like to thank Lucas Oil, Hansen Machine, NAAKE Suspension, Maxim Chassis, and Moyle Racing Engines for their support during the year.
