EAGLE, Neb. (July 13, 2016) – Jack Dover didn’t have any intention of racing last weekend, but he’s sure glad he did.
Dover drove Chris Roseland’s 305ci sprint car on Saturday at Eagle Raceway, where the team charged from 16th to win the main event. That gives Dover a victory during each of the last five weekends.
“It was great to give Chris a win after the rough start to the season in the 305 car,” he said. “I know it’s just a 305 race, but with all the bad luck it’s nice to get a win. We hadn’t finished a feature this year in that car.”
Dover, who had won the previous four weeks in his sprint car, opened the event by advancing from ninth to sixth place in a heat race. He then won the B Main from the pole to transfer into the 16th starting position for the 25-lap main event.
“That car would go anywhere I wanted it to,” he said. “I snuck up there to sixth or seventh right away. Then we slowly picked them off. With about eight laps to go we took the lead. I was going anywhere I had to. I stuck and drove off the corners awesome. The car was flawless.”
While it was the duo’s first win together, Dover has recorded his five victories this season in the last 12 races since June 10.
“We’ve had a great last month to get us back on track after a slow start to the season,” he said. “Now everything is great with Chris’s car as well so we’re looking forward to picking up many more wins this year.”
