– Taking part in the fourth and final Placerville Posse Challenge event at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Andy Forsberg put an exclamation point on the mini series as he won the race, and was also crowned Placerville Posse Challenge Champion.
“It was a great night for this C&M Motorsports team,” Forsberg said. “The car was awesome, and the track was really good in my opinion. We got the win, and got a pretty cool championship trophy as well.”
Returning to the Placerville Speedway after a fourth place finish at the Mark Forni Classic, Forsberg came out hot as he set the standard in time trials aboard his PT Shocks/PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness No. 7c machine.
Lining up in the fourth spot for his heat race, Forsberg would pick up a position as a third place finish would assure him a spot in the nightly redraw that would establish his starting position.
Finding himself with the six pill, Forsberg would have his work cut out for him as he lined up in the third row for the 25-lap feature event. When the race came to life, Forsberg took a liking to the high side of the speedway as he made a couple of big moves to work into the second spot in just one lap.
Chasing after Mason Moore, Forsberg would make a move for the lead on the fifth lap but would be denied. The next lap, ‘Mr. Excitement’ used his momentum to complete a hair-raising move on the outside of Moore to claim the top stop.
As Forsberg led the way, he would admittedly watch Sean Becker climb the scoreboard as he moved into the second spot, and became Forsberg’s biggest threat.
Continuing to run well upstairs, Forsberg would not feel any serious pressure as he rode on to pick up C&M Motorsports’ 10th win of the season, and claim the Placerville Posse Challenge series championship on the strength on two wins.
“I saw Sean (Becker) move up the scoreboard in a few laps, so figured he would be coming up top,” Forsberg admitted. “I was pretty good up top too and was able to bring this home for the guys.”
The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
