PLACERVILLE, Cal. (October 4) — With the 2016 season winding down, Placerville Speedway co-promoters Scott Russell and Kami Arnold have been getting prepared for their most ambitious promotion yet, the season ending “NorCal Posse Shootout”, featuring Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Spec Sprints, and NorCal Dwarf Cars.

“We are really excited about this race and have a lot planned for the Shootout”, said Arnold. “Our goal is to grow this event into something the fans and racers want to come back to year after year”.

Friday’s race will feature a preliminary program for the Winged 360 Sprint Cars that pays $3,000 to win and $300 to start, while the Spec Sprints will be on hand for one night only with $1200 going to the victor, with $200 going to all feature starters. Also, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in Spec Sprints will receive solid gold coins (1oz, 1/2oz, & 1/4 oz, respectively) as an added bonus. The NorCal Dwarf Cars will also be on hand both Friday and Saturday night.

In addition to the action on the racetrack, Friday night will be capped off with a fan appreciation party in the Forni Building, just off turns 1 & 2 of the speedway. There will be a taco feed, while beer, wine, and other various alcoholic beverages will be served, as well as soft drinks and water. Happy Hour pricing will be available for Coors and Coors Lite Beer.

Entertainment will be provided by the Blokes, a local rock band from El Dorado Hills. A four piece unit, the Blokes feature Reggae, Classic Rock, Alterative, Folk, and Pop influences. Thanks goes out to Rich and Rachel Tiner for providing the band for the festivities. In addition, Cornhole boards will be set up for friendly competition.

Saturday Night’s event will be the crown jewel of the Winged 360 Sprint Car season at the 1/4 mile speed plant, boasting an impressive $7,000 winner’s share, $5,000 for second, $3,000 for third, with fourth and fifth paying $2,000 and $1,500, respectively. Feature starters are guaranteed $500.
