PORT ROYAL, Penn. (November 20, 2016) – The biggest and richest event in the long and storied history of Port Royal Speedway was announced Saturday night, November 19, 2016 at the annual oval awards banquet.

Celebrating its 50th annual running on September 9, 2017, the 50th annual Tuscarora 50 for sprint cars will pay $50,000 to win out of a nearly $100,000 total purse.

Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars will again sanction the prestigious event.

“We are definitely excited to be part of the 50th annual Tuscarora 50 weekend”, said Tony Stewart, owner of the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

“This event is undoubtedly getting bigger and better each year; there will be a stout field of cars and I look forward to seeing some of our All Star cars battle for the $50,000 top prize.”

Since the first auto races were held at Port Royal Speedway in 1938, no event at the track has ever been this rich and now the rich-in-history event is set to explode onto the national and world sprint car scene in 2017 as one of the gems of the sport.

The $50,000 to win, 50th annual Port Royal Speedway Tuscarora 50 has attracted a host of prominent sponsors that are throwing their weight behind the oval crown jewel.

The 50th annual, $50,000 to win Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway will be preceded as has become customary with the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints Night Before The 50 on Friday, September 8.

The entire 50th annual Tuscarora 50 weekend is part of the annual Juniata County Fair that encompasses the speedway grounds during the week encompassing the Labor Day holiday.

Other details of the emerging 2017 Port Royal Speedway slate of events were released on Saturday night at the banquet.

The World of Outlaws super late models will invade the Port Royal oval for the first time in years coming up on Saturday, August 19.

This announcement comes on the heels of the previously announced Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Challenge Series date slated for April 23.

The All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints will again sanction the Keith Kauffman Classic on April 29 along with both Tuscarora 50 races.

The annual Living Legends Dream Race is slated for Saturday, July 29.

Opening Day 2017 is Saturday, March 11 at 6 pm featuring super sprints and super late models.
