The USAC Mopar D1 Midget Series, a victim of rainouts in its first two scheduled events in Indiana, tries again to kick-start its 2011 season this week with races Wednesday night at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome and Sunday night at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisc.

The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders will kick off their season this Friday night, May 27, at the CJ Speedway in Columbus Junction, Iowa, and on Sunday, May 29 at the Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Illinois. After rain and cold temperatures ruined their opener at 34 Raceway in West Burlington on April 16, the series is highly anticipating getting things going this weekend!

Mother Nature wins at Huset’s Speedway
Sadly, Huset’s Speedway will not be racing tonight, May 22. The amount of rain that has fallen simply will not allow our grounds to dry before tonight’s scheduled event. Unlike the last two weeks, the drying conditions of the day are not going to allow the grounds crew to get everything into shape for the event.

LAWRENCEBURG MSCS OPENER RESCHEDULED
The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series race scheduled to be held at Lawrenceburg Speedway on May 14th was cancelled because of inclement weather. This is the second year in a row that rain interfered with MSCS being able to open the season at Lawrenceburg Speedway. However series officials and track promoter Dave Rudisell have had time to confer and the race has been rescheduled. The new date will be Saturday May 28th.
