Defending champion Becker looks to bring A-game for third title quest

Only a handful of drivers have won a Civil War Sprint Car championship more than once; only one has more than two series titles to his name. But in the history of the Hoosier Tires Civil War Race Series no driver has ever claimed three consecutive championship titles. In 2010 that fact could change but it surely won’t come easily.

Placerville Civil War Race marks opening of 2010 season for Geving

After mother nature washed away her hopes of a strong run in the Chico Mini Gold Cup last weekend, Penngrove’s Alissa Geving is gearing up to start the 2010 racing season this Saturday night. The two-time Petaluma Speedway champion will take her first green flag of the year in the Civil War Sprint Car Series which opens at Placerville Speedway in El Dorado County, California.

Brandon Wimmer – Looking for Work!

Another talented driver is looking for some help to get on the track as much as possible. Brandon Wimmer, who closed 2009 with a win in Ohio, is searching for opportunities. He had partnered with Rick Ferkel the past year in the famous #0 car, but the “Ohio Traveler” is leaving the car in the shop for the time being to become the crew chief for Greg Wilson. That leaves the Fairmount, Indiana driver scrambling for an opportunity with the 2010 Midwest sprint car season knocking.

USAC/ELDORA TRADITION ENTERS 49TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

When Eldora Speedway kicks into action over Easter Weekend (April 2 & 3) with the Coca Cola Spring Classic, it only seems fitting that the non-winged Sprint Cars of the United States Auto Club (USAC) will be the feature attraction. Honoring the memories of legendary Jud Larson and Don Branson, the 2010 lid lifter will mark the 49th consecutive season of USAC Sprint racing at Eldora.
