This week’s open wheel spectacular features Tony Hunt discussing the Schwanke LS-based Chevrolet engine he used to finish second in the Little 500 and has been approved by USAC for all sprint car divisions during the 2010 season. T.J. also reveals some news about schedules for the 2011 season.
Open wheel fans in the Great Lakes region wishing they could see some bigger open wheel programs closer to home should be able to rejoice for 2011. Denny Donaldson is working together with Butler Motor Speedway promoter Bob Garrett to bring back some more visible programs to the speedway including the All Star Circuit of Champions and an early season midget car program. Over the past 12 years the Rumble Series has evolved into a mid-winter gathering of racers young and old for a change to gather with friends for some winter racing. Part of the series success has been the availability of the Fort Wayne Exposition Center on the weekend between Christmas and New Years Day. This season an interesting challenge arose with both holidays falling on Saturday.
