XTREME SPRINT SERIES TITLE TO BE DECIDED AT BRISTOL

The winner of the TruFuel “Xtreme Speed Classic” at Bristol Motor Speedway on Oct. 1 will claim bragging rights as the fastest winged pavement sprint car driver in the world. While that is indeed meaningful, a more tangible accomplishment will also be determined on that fast Saturday: the 2011 Xtreme Sprint Series championship.

Hafertepe Wins the 2011 Canadian Sprint Car Nationals

Sam Hafertepe, Jr. waited until Saturday to take the track at Ohsweken Speedway and made the wait worthwhile by winning the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals feature event. Hafertepe passed Jamie Collard on lap 12 and motored away for his first Canadian Nationals championship driving his family owned team. Hafertepe collected $11,000 dollars for his effort.

Shaffer scores 10th All Star win to open Ford Classic at Fremont

Tim Shaffer shot around Rob Chaney in lapped traffic on lap 14 and then benefitted from a caution to give him a clear track as he went on to score the All Star Circuit of Champions win to open the Jim Ford Classic at Fremont Speedway on Friday night. It marked the 98th appearance of the All Stars at Fremont Speedway.

Stewart and Daggett Win Features The Night Before the Nationals

Shane Stewart and Dustin Daggett won the twin features during the Night Before the Nationals program at Friday at Ohsweken Speedway. Stewart survived a brush with the wall with his right rear tire on his way to victory while Daggett inherited the lead after Robbie Stillwaggon drove off the top of the track in turn two.
