USAC Silver Crown Championship
USAC Silver Crown Championship
There’s nothing much better than dirt mile season on the racing calendar. It’s a rare treat of high-speed racing courtesy of the USAC Silver Crown National Championship in front of the covered grandstands while the smell of deep fried Oreos and the sound of the Tea Cup ride fills the central Illinois air.
It’s admittedly hard to stop a train. And about the closest thing to a train of late is Kody Swanson in a USAC Silver Crown car at Ohio’s Toledo Speedway. While we watch in awe at the Kingsburg, Calif. native’s historic run at the half-mile paved oval, the hunger continues to build and the desire within burns hotter than ever for those in the field to dethrone the champ at his personal ATM this Saturday night, August 5.
Last June, it was quite clear that Logan Seavey loves Port Royal Speedway and Port Royal’s love back to him was requited. The Sutter, Calif. native’s first ever visit to the Pennsylvania half-mile dirt oval in 2022 resulted in a match made straight out of a storybook.
