The veteran sprint car driver has scored 17 feature victories, including 13 trips to Victory Lane with the Muddy backed team.
Swindell and his Big Game Treestands team are scheduled to compete in 15 World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series races throughout five states and two Canadian provinces in July, which starts this Wednesday at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D.
“Overall I think there were some positive things that we can build on as we continue to work on our program,” he said. “We’re still working on getting our race car where we need it to be at Knoxville.”
Despite recently putting together a new Big Game Treestands team, Dollansky has earned a pair of victories and four podiums in five races this season. That was highlighted last weekend when the team competed in a pair of races on back-to-back nights for the first time this season and the results were extremely successful.
Dollansky led all 20 laps last Saturday to pick up the win at Knoxville Raceway in only his third race of the season.
“I’m very encouraged,” he said. “The weekend before we had a significant vibration I was concerned about. Things are going well and we’re headed in the right direction.”
After spending the last six weeks in the west, Swindell and his Big Game Treestands team are headed to a trio of World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series races in Texas this week, which begins on Tuesday at El Paso Speedway Park in El Paso
“We’ve been making gains since the second night at Tulare,” he said. “It’s about just putting it all together. It’s tough to find that tenth of a second that you need. The cars are so close. Our whole package – motors, cars, everything – needs to get just a little bit better. We’re not looking for a half a second now. We’re looking for a tenth of a second.”
