This Saturday, March 9th, the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series will return to Perris Auto Speedway for the 11th Annual “Sokola Shootout.”

R.J. Johnson put a stop to Byan Clauson’s reign of Canyon Speedway Park domination by winning Saturday night’s Sixth Annual Copper on Dirt 30-lap main event in the USAC/CRA Sprint Car ranks after Clauson had earlier completed a sweep of the weekend’s USAC Western States Midget action atop the 1/3-mile clay oval.

USAC’s 2012 Western Champions and special award winners were honored Saturday night at the Estrella Warbirds Museum and Woodland Auto Display in Paso Robles, Calif. Competitors in the Ignite Midgets, Western Midgets, Western Classic Sprints, West Coast Sprints, USAC/CRA Sprints, and more were celebrated as a large crowd was in attendance.

SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR JUNE USAC/CRA WATSONVILLE-SANTA MARIA SHOWS
Western Region Director Chris Kearns has announced a change in the upcoming Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Schedule. The popular Watsonville and Santa Maria doubleheader scheduled in June has been moved to one week earlier.

MIKE SPENCER CLAIMS 5TH STRAIGHT USAC/CRA CHAMPIONSHIP
The Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series had another solid season in 2012 and for the fifth straight year, Temecula’s Mike Spencer won the driver’s championship. Showcasing twenty-two events throughout California and Arizona, 127 different drivers took the green flag during the campaign. Twelve of those drivers scored main event wins as the group registered an average car count of thirty.

SPENCER TRACKING DOWN USAC HISTORY
Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. is on the verge of USAC immortality. Only 14 drivers, of the 301 prior to 2012 who have won USAC driving titles, own five or more. Mike is in the stretch run of a fifth straight championship in a single series this weekend as he pursues the 2012 AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car crown.

OVAL NATIONALS BILLY WILKERSON FAST TIME AWARDS TO PAY $500.00!
Anne Wilkerson, wife of the late 1967 and 1970 CRA Sprint Car Champion and National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Billy Wilkerson, has announced the “Billy Wilkerson Fast Time Awards” at the 17th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway on November 2nd and 3rd. The awards will carry a $500.00 bonus to the fast qualifier each night.
