Clauson picks up long awaited USAC Sprint Car victory at Eldora
Bryan Clauson checked a long waited item off of his racing to do list Friday night by picking up the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car Series feature at Eldora Speedway. Clauson, who had picked up victories in the USAC Midget and Silver Crown divisions at Eldora, had come close to winning several times at Eldora without accomplishing the task. Clauson won Friday’s main in spectacular style dueling C.J Leary and Thomas Meseraull for the victory.

Gardner wins at Bakersfield
Ronnie Gardner won the USAC Western Midget Car feature Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway. Gardner took the lead from Michael Faccinto on lap 28 for the victory. Faccinto held on for second with Terry Nichols, Alex Schutte, and Tyler Dolacki rounded out the top five.

Canyon Speedway Park rained out
Rain has forced the cancellation of Saturday night’s scheduled Sixth Annual Canyon Clash featuring the USAC Southwest Sprint Cars along with IMCA Stock Cars vs. SCRA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks vs. Renegades, Mod Lites and Micro Sprints at the 1/3-mile Canyon Speedway Park clay oval.

USAC, POWRi, ARDC announce joint RPM limits
Officials of the United States Auto Club (USAC), POWRi and ARDC Midget Series today jointly announced a rule which will unify engine platform-specific RPM limits in all sanctioned races, effective May 29, 2016. This commitment to RPM limits constitutes a three-year commitment and any uniform limit modifications will be determined through on-going data analysis obtained through actual on-track racing.

Six weeks until Byrd’s Challenge debut
Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway will open the unique Jonathan Byrd’s “Indy Challenge” June 4 as part of the 2016 “Indiana Midget Week.” It’s the first of seven USAC National and Western Midget races to determine if anybody can earn one of the incentives posted, including a chance to compete in the 2018 Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
