Watsonville, CA – The Ocean Speedway is pleased to announce that the Watsonville, California based quarter-mile clay oval has signed a two-year agreement with the Hoosier Tire Company to be the official tire of the Ocean 360 Winged Sprint Car Series.
Ocean Speedway promoter John Prentice is proud to be able to make the announcement as tires have become one of the hottest topics in all of sprint car racing during the off-season. “This will be our fifth year with Hoosier and we have been very happy with the service and the quality of tire for the racers,” he said. “We would really like to thank Rick Gerhardt, Neil Cowman, Dennis Sherman and Robert Perryman for all the days, hours and hard work they have put in to make this happen.”
In 2010 the Ocean 360 Sprint Car Series will feature 13-nights of racing at the Ocean Speedway, as well as one apiece at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway and the Santa Maria Speedway. Last season saw Easton’s Tommy Tarlton pick-up four victories at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds facility en route to his first championship at the track. Opening night for the Ocean 360 Sprints next year is scheduled for Friday evening April 2 at Ocean Speedway.
