Bloomington Rained Out – KISS Heads to Lawrenceburg Speedway

kiss King of Indiana Sprint Series

May 21, 2010 – Heavy overnight rain, a damp morning and the risk of severe storms compelled Bloomington Speedway promoter Mike Miles to cancel tonight’s KISS program. Under KISS series rules, races are not made up in the event of a rainout. The series now turns to Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday night.

The KISS show at Lawrenceburg Speedway will begin with hot laps at 6 pm and racing at 7. The pit gate opens at 4 pm and general admission at 5. Admission tickets are $15, youngsters 7 – 12 are just $7, while those 6 and younger are admitted free. Pit passes are $30. The program will include UMP modifieds and AMSA mini-sprints. More information and directions can be found on the web at www.lawrenceburgspeedway.com.

With three races remaining, the series is at the halfway mark. Dave Darland collected his second KISS victory at Gas City I-69 Speedway, and four-time champion Jon Stanbrough notched his sixteenth series win at Kokomo Speedway. This puts them on top of the current KISS standings, separated by only 8 points. However, sitting between them, Tracy Hines holds position just 5 points behind Darland. But the potential battle is larger than just those three. Chris Windom is only a point behind Stanbrough, while Hunter Schuerenberg and Blake Fitzpatrick are within 30 points of the leader. This is the recipe for a night of hard, exciting racing on Saturday.

KISS points (after May 16): 1. Darland 340, 2. Tracy Hines 335, 3. Stanbrough 332, 4. Windom 331, 5. Schuerenberg 314, 6. Fitzpatrick 313, 7. Clauson 306, 8. Ted Hines 280, 9. Puterbaugh 272, 10. Armstrong 253
