Crawley to pilot #99 honoring legendary Hooker Hood on 7/1-7/4

Atlanta, GA – 6/26/10 – Former National Sprint Car Hall of Fame driver of
the Year and 2008 USCS Mid South Thunder Tour Champion, Tim Crawley from
Benton, Arkansas will pilot a special car honoring Sprint Car Hall of Fame
Inductee, and open wheel racing legend Clarence Hooker Hood from Memphis,
Tennessee during the four race United Sprint Car Series presented by
Goodyear mini-series over the July 4th weekend.

The #99 car will carry a special graphics package honoring Hood who was
appropriately known as the “Tennessee Tornado”. The dynamic and colorful
racer terrorized the Mid South for nearly five decades and won 56 features
in 63 starts during his best season in the mid-sixties. Hood was usually the
man to beat everywhere he traveled for decades.

The first USCS presented by Goodyear race Crawley has entered for the four
contest weekend honors the legend (Hood) at his home track, Riverside
International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas on Thursday, July 1st. That
race is titled the Hooker Hood Sprint Car Shootout in honor of Hood.

Crawley will also race the car owned by Dennis and Jeri Benjamin and crewed
by Mike Ward and the Ward Racing crew for the rest of the weekend at Malden
Speedway on Friday, July 2nd. Saturday night, July 3rd will find them at
Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tennessee. The weekend’s USCS racing
activities conclude at the Camden Motor Speedway in Camden, TN on Sunday,
July 4th with fireworks and racing.
