“SUMAR CLASSIC” AT TERRE HAUTE OCTOBER 9

USAC Silver Crown Series

Bud Kaeding’s quest for a record fourth USAC Silver Crown Championship continues October 9 in the “Sumar Classic 100” at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track. Kaeding emerged from last Saturday’s “4-Crown Nationals” at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio with a 41-point lead over Levi Jones in the standings. Kaeding finished sixth in the 50-lapper.

USAC Silver Crown Rookie Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Ind. led all 50 laps to give car owner and Eldora Speedway owner Tony Stewart a victory at Edlora. Trailing Clauson’s Bass Pro Shops/Armor All Beast/Kistler Chevy entered by Stewart and Curb-Agajanian Racing were Dave Darland, fast qualifier Levi Jones, Shane Hmiel and Todd Kane.

Seven drivers are separated by just 42 points in the battle for second in the new Silver Crown standings with 66 points available at Terre Haute.
