Recapping Hanford and Tulare

From CDR

World of Outlaws action continued in California this past weekend as they invaded Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway in Hanford for the first time in nearly a decade and then took on Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare. With Mother Nature looming both nights, Friday’s event wound up being postponed when rain showers came right before the A-Main. Action on Saturday at Tulare was moved along quickly and all races were complete as scheduled.

Craig Dollansky and the rest of the Outlaws take a rare weekend off this coming weekend before three straight nights of racing beginning on March 31st when they revisit Hanford to make up the postponed feature. The Big Game Treestands #7 team then head to Merced Speedway to open up the month of April before wrapping up racing in ‘The Golden State’ the following night at Calistoga Speedway.

Just recently, Dollansky was a featured guest on Winged Nation on MRN Radio. Listen to Dollansky’s interview with Steve Post and Kendra Jacobs HERE!

Before heading back to Minnesota, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ also shared some thoughts on the racing at Hanford and Tulare.

Hanford
Qualifying: 2nd
Heat Race: 2nd
Dash: 6th
A-Main: postponed by rain, rescheduled for March 31st

“It was a good night going for us, we had a good qualifying effort. We didn’t get a real good draw for the dash but we were able to move up a row and had a good starting position for the A-Main. We had a good car and we’re looking forward to going back and making that one up.”

Tulare
Qualifying: 5th
Heat Race: 4th
A-Main: DNF, start (11)

“We had decent qualifying run but didn’t get in the top two in the heat to get into the dash. We didn’t have a real good car but we were good enough to advance into the top five. We got by a couple cars and had just taken 8th but the caution came out and put us back in 9th. On the restart someone tried jumping the start and got into the side of me and spun me around and someone else drove into the back end and bent the rear end and wheel and the jacobs ladder was broke. It forced us to the work area and the guys tried to make repairs but there was quite a bit of damage. We did get back out but on the restart someone hooked our right front and broke the front axle and ended our night. It’s unfortunate, we could have got out of there with a decent run, we were moving up and had a good enough car to get up to the top five.”

Looking ahead to Hanford, Merced, and Calistoga

“We won at Chico and have had a good west coast swing up until Tulare. We can’t control everything but we’ll put that behind us and get ready for the upcoming races. We’re looking forward to getting back to Hanford and the other two events. We haven’t ever been to Merced Speedway so that will be something new. We haven’t raced at Calistoga for a few years so we’re looking forward to getting back there and doing some racing as well. We won the Harvest Classic in 2006 and miss going there the past few years so it’s going to be great to race there again.”
