As a truck driver, Bob recognized the need for a place for drivers to stop along the 401. He always thought that this area of the 401 was lacking in regards to truck stops and exit 730 seemed like the perfect location.

In 1987, Bob purchased the property which is now home to the 730 Truck Stop and the Road Ranger Restaurant from Ryder. At this time the only building on the property was a 3 bay garage which included 2 small diesel pumps. Bob used his connections in the trucking industry to let drivers know that he was open for business and the customers started coming.

With the help of 730, the Canadian Sprint Car Series once again has a point fund of over $10,000 and will reward 15 drivers from the seven full point events which kicks off with the ESS opener on April 30th at the Can-Am Motorsports Park.
