Mercer, PA (April 23, 2011) – For the fourth time in five weeks, Mercer Raceway Park has been forced to cancel racing for the weekend. The Saturday Night Live program will be a wash for April 23 due to flooded pits, grandstands and parking areas.
Fans should look forward to next Saturday, April 30 when the Mahoning Valley Scrappers invade Mercer along with the Saturday Night Live program. The Mahoning Valley Scrappers will be providing ticket giveaways, and mascot Scrappy will be on hand to get race fans ready for the Scrappers’ baseball season!
In addition to the Scrappers’ family fun, the Luxaire Heating & Cooling 410 Sprint Cars, Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds, ti22 Performance Outlaw Sprint Warriors, Big Daddy’s Speed Center Mod Lites, Precise Racing Products Stock Cars and Big Dog R/C Mini Stocks will be on the racing card at 7:00pm.
Mercer Raceway Park will hold its third open practice on Wednesday, May 4. Pits open at 4 p.m. with practice 5 until dark. Pit passes are $20. The rain date is May 5.
