HAUBSTADT, Ind. (May 2, 2011) – Sammy Swindell grabbed the lead on lap 18, held off a determined challenge late in the race, and won the World of Outlaws sprint car race at Tri State Speedway.

The 40-lap race included five restarts after Swindell grabbed the top spot. That gave several drivers extra chances to catch Swindell, but the veteran held them off.

Goodyear is the Official Tire Company of the WoO sprint car program and is the exclusive supplier of tires for the rear wheel positions. Goodyear supplies a variety of constructions and tread compounds for each wheel position at every WoO race.

Swindell bested second place finisher Paul McMahan despite the rash of restarts. Joey Saldana finished third, Kraig Kinser was fourth and Craig Dollansky came home fifth. Saldana recorded the best time during time trials, 12.101 seconds, around the quarter mile, high banked dirt oval.

Saldana now leads the standings with 1,695 points. Steve Kinser is next with 1,680 and Jason Meyers is third with 1,627.
