ELBRIDGE, NY – In a unique program between the DIRTCar Northeast and the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS), on Monday, July 4th fans will get a little taste of winged sprint car action with the Stars and Stripes Shootout. A special five lap dash with four of ESS’ best to wet the appetite for the upcoming Sprint Car Summer Shootout.
The second annual Sprint Car Summer Shootout will be held on July 22 and 23 with the very best in 360 sprint car racing to be on hand from as much as five states and two Canadian provinces. Last year a field of 49 cars was in the pits before Mother Nature had different ideas.
“I have to thank the Empire Super Sprints in helping to set this unique promotion up.” said DIRTCar Northeast director Jeff Hachmann. “I called Dean Reynolds to see if I can get a car to display and he did one better. He said he will get four cars and let’s do a race. What better way to get the fans excitement peeked for the Summer Shootout.”
Invited to run the five lap dash will be top stars such as two-time ESS champion Lance Yonge, the ever exciting Chuck “The Cobra” Hebing, along with tour title contenders Shawn Donath and Jason Barney.
The event will be held in conjunction with the Stars and Stripes 100 which is part of the Super DIRTCar Series for the big block modifieds. All four sprints and their drivers will be on display behind the grandstand for pictures and autographs before taking to the track to run the dash event.
The “Fast Track” will hold six events for the 2011 racing season culminating with the annual visit by the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars on Sat., Oct. 8th during Super Dirt Week which is celebrating its 40th Anniversary.
