HUT HUNDRED WIN IS DAUM’s FIRST

Haubstadt. IN……..Zach Daum of Pocahontas, Ill. posted his first-ever USAC Mopar National Midget feature victory Saturday night and he picked a great time to do it. He led the last 11 laps to win the “Hut Hundred” at Tri-State Speedway in his Daum Insurance/Weld Eagle/Fontana. Tracy Hines finished second ahead of Thomas Meseraull, pole starter Darren Hagen and Jerry Coons Jr. Hines led the first 62 laps, then Daum led 15 and Hagen 12 before Daum took over on lap 90. Kody Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, Ind. for treatment of undisclosed injuries after flipping during the feature event.
