The Crown Jewel of open-wheel sprint car racing at Silver Dollar Speedway is less than three months away. The week long party that is the Gold Cup Race of Champions will feature a variety of racing divisions and post race activities. As usual, the week will end with the World Famous World of Outlaw drivers going 40-laps around the famed quarter-mile raceway. The 58th edition of racing during the Gold Cup will start on Wednesday, September 7 and end on Saturday night, September 10th.
Tickets have been going fast so now is your opportunity to reserve a seat. Single day Gold Cup tickets will go on sale Wednesday, June 15th, at 8am. There are two ways to make sure your request is filled. Feel free to phone in your ticket request at 530-350-7275 or fax at 530-350-7448.
The unique chance to see all forms of sprint car racing and different racing associations kick off on Wednesday night September 7th with the stars of the California Sprint Car Civil War Series and Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Shootout Series Invitational. On Thursday the newly devised “non-wing madness” as the traditional sprint cars and midgets will race. The exciting USAC Western Classic Racing Series along with the BCRA/USAC midgets will showcase there talents all while paying tribute to a local racing icon. Then on Friday and Saturday night the traveling World of Outlaws sprint car stars will converge to see who can win the Gold Cup.
Entertainment will be plentiful as the Clyde Lamar Golf Tourney, Thursday night concert, Friday night Chili Feed and Bikini Contest and Saturday JP’s Paint and Auto Body Fan Appreciate Rib Roast will all add to the biggest sprint car race on the West Coast.
